Intro to Drama

Drama 1
Drama 1 is the introductory class.  This class introduces the students to all aspects of the theatre, provides the historical background of theatre, and is the beginning acting class.

Advanced Drama/Production Workshop

Advanced Drama or the Production Workshop class incorporates levels 2-4 of theatre class into one production company.

Drama 2
In Drama 2, students focus primarily on acting.  Students work on monologues, short scenes, and full-length plays.  The department aims to produced two in-class full-length plays each year.

Drama 3
Acting is only half of the theatrical experience:  Technical theatre makes up the other half.  In this class, students learn about everything that happens off stage:  lighting, set, costumes, sound, props, publicity, etc.  The class is divided up into a series of units, which introduce a certain concept, and develop students' mastery to level of a designer.

Drama 4
This final level, usually taken in a student's final year at Golden Valley, brings together the experience gained in the previous two years.  This year focuses on advanced acting, stage management, and directing.  The culminating project of this class is a production which is produced entirely by the students.
