Drama 3:  Technical Theatre

About the Class

Drama three focuses on all of the technical aspects of a production.  It is a very practical, project-based class in which students will develop proficiency in the following units:

Semester 1
Unit 1:  Student Technician Certification
Unit 2:  Set Construction and Design
Unit 3:  Theatrical Painting
Unit 4:  Theatrical Lighting

Semester 2
Unit 5:  Sound Design and Implementation
Unit 6:  Prop Design and Construction
Unit 7:  Costume Design
Unit 8:  Publicity
Unit 9:  Culminating Project

Each of the above units will begin with an introduction on the theory, and then proceed into the practical applications of the knowledge.  Each unit will end with a final project or product, which the students will create to display mastery of the content.  The final unit, the Culminating Project, will combine all of the knowledge learned throughout the year.
