Unit 1:  Monologue Workshop

About

In this unit, students will engage in dissecting and presenting two monologues.  Students will learn how to develop a unique character based on the monologues.

About the monologues:
  • The first monologue will be given to the students, picked from a classic piece of theatre.
  1. Male monologue
  2. Female monologue
  • The second monologue will be picked by the student.  The monologue must meet the following criterion:
  1. The monologue must be at least two minutes long.
  2. The monologue must be from a play (NOT a movie or TV Show).
  3. The language and content of the monologue must be appropriate for school.
