THE GOLDEN VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL THEATRE & FILM

Drama 4:  Stage Management and Directing

About the Class

In Drama 4, students begin to apply all of the knowledge gained in Drama 1, 2, and 3.  This knowledge is then combined to create an entire production.

Semester 1
Students act as stage managers, under the direction of the instructor.  They are responsible for the organization and running of the show throughout the audition, rehearsal, and performance stages.

Semester 2
Students take over as directors.  They will present a proposal for a one-act show which they would like to direct.  The student directors will be in charge of all phases of the production, from the technical designs to to the acting.  They will cast the shows, block the actors, and create a design concept for the show.
